It helped that Oliver's profession as a chef did not require him a high level of writing or reading. As long as he could read a recipe, convert metrics and adapt recipe rations, there was no problem for him to become a professional chef.
Furthermore, since we live in an age of modern technology, electronic or automatic spelling checkers, calculators, and many other functions that exist in computers and even smartphones can help him overcome many of the superficial aspects of the disorder that he may face in his daily life at work.
Another reasons that he could overcome dyslexia were because he was very optimistic and brave enough that he came forward to the public and spoke about his condition. Instead of being frustrated or embrassed of living with a learning disorder, he stood out in front of the public and tried to be more outgoing with optimistic thinking.

In 2010, he set up his own school for dyslexic children who have suffered bullying or attended private schools. His school offered more inspiring education. There was food education as a part of the school curriculum. Students learned how to prepare healthy meals, equip a kitchen and save money on food bills. In addition, they were taught a broad range of other life and job skills. His school 'with a difference' had the main goal of encouraging dyslexic youngsters and helping them to reach their full potential which cannot be fulfilled in other regular schools.
