Personal Life
Jamie Oliver was born on March 27, 1975 in Clavering, England. He used to practise cooking in kitchen of The Cricketers, the restaurant which were ran by his parents, Trevor Oliver and Sally Oliver. Jamie Oliver had one sibling named Anna Oliver. He married with Juliette Norton in 2000 and he has four kids, Poppy Honey Rosie Oliver, born March 18, 2002, Daisy Boo Pamela Oliver, born on April 10, 2003, Petal Blossom Rainbow Oliver, born on April 3, 2009 and Buddy Bear Maurice Oliver, born on 15 September 2010. Early Life Jamie Oliver first began working in his parents' restaurant, The Cricketers, in his age of 8 and soon could surpass the existing kitchen staff of the restaurant with his exceptional chopping skills when he was 11 years old. In his age of 14, being interested in music, Jamie formed the band called "Scarlet Division" with Leigh Haggerwood who were composer and also musician. He left school, Newport Free Grammar School, in age 16 and joined Westminster Catering College. Then, he later obtained a "City and Guilds National Vocational Qualification" (NVQ) in home economics. Career He first started his career as a pastry chef at Antonio Carluccio's Neal's Yard and taughted by his mentor Gennaro Contaldo. However, his ability was soon recognized not only at his work but also internationally. With his growing popularity, he had a success with the various television series too. He debuted on BBC with his show, 'The Naked Chef', on April 14, 1999 and in the folllowing year, he also launched 'Pukka Tukka' on Channel 4. In 2002, he laucnched another successful show, 'Jamie's Kitchen'. This show was the documentary series which showed how Jamie Oliver trained a group of fifteen disadvantage youth. Among this group, five people could successfully complete the training and were offered jobs at Oliver's new restaurant 'Fifteen'. In 2003, in addition to launching television shows, he also participated in 'Feed Me Better' campaign which supported for cutting out junk food in the diets of British children. In respose to this campaign, the British governmnet promised to increase the budget for school meals to provide healthier foods to children. In consequence, Jamie Oliver was voted the 'Most Inspiring Political Figure' in Britiain in 2003. In the following years, he continuously launched significant number of television shows and attempted to make social changes in Britian through these shows. For instance, the show, 'Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution', which was aired in 2010, attempted to improve eating habits of city residents. In 2010, he also focused on simple, home-cooked meals that could be made in only 30 minutes, launching the show, 'Jamie's 30-Minute Meals'. In 2012, he participated in MasterChef Australia and scored the highest among the contestants. He also introduced the show, 'Jamie's 15-Minute Meals' and 'Jimmy's Food Finght Club' and invested in the Maison Publique, Montreal. Jamie Oliver launched the significant number of television shows other than those introduced above.
